This years edtion of the famous, annual Canscoot Show Weekend ride had us heading over to the Coast
Post Ride Update
Hope you all had a good a weekend as I did. Great to see everyone out on the scoots for the long run. A little bit of rain never hurt anyone, you will have dried out and warmed up by now I'm sure. Just remember the WD-40 for the shiny bits, and the scoot would love some too!
Big thanks to Chalky for the organisation, Ben for the driving the support vehicle and everyone else for just turning up!
It didn't rain all weekend and some great riding was there to be enjoyed. There are some photos to help you relive those sunny moments, just click that the thumbnails below. If you have any extras you want up on the site sent them to me at email@example.com

The Original Plan
Day One - Friday, 13th Nov
Friday departure from the Caffe Roma, 176 Oxford Tce. Since last year they've installed outside tables and I've put dibs on them. Meet at 9am for breakfast and a 10 am departure
We then head off towards Reefton via the Lewis Pass: 250 kilometres
These a selection of accommodation at Reefton http://www.reefton.co.nz/accommodation.html but I reckon we should try and stay at The Old Nurses Home Accommodation, 104 Shiel Street, phone 03.732 8881.
Apparently only a 3 minute walk to the pub. There are a range of rooms and rates: $35 for single with sheets and towels; $55 for twin/double with sheets and towels; or $25 for dorm where you supply your own sheets and towel.
Day Two - Saturday, 14th Nov
Reefton to Hokitika via Westport and Greymouth (and probably the Blackball Hilton): 218 kilometres
Hokitika: There's also a wide choice of accommodation in Hokitika (http://www.hokitika.org/accommodation) but I'm picking "Seaview Lodge" Seaveiw Hill Rd, Hokitika. It's on the right hand side as you start to enter Hokitika.
This is the old DHB hospital building which has been converted to accommodation in a retro theme. Plenty of space under cover for scooters, even lockable sheds if required.
A number of lounge area's for us. A Bar & BBQ facilities (BYO) Kitchen facilities, in fact the whole lodge will be solely for Canscoot on the Saturday night. It's 30m above sea level so offers awesome Tasman Sea views.
There's a mix of room types, doubles, twin and dorm. All linen provided except towels. Cost is $50 pp.
Sleeps 25 people easily with room for more.
Please either phone or email Christine to secure your bed. Mention Canscoot in your booking. (03) 755-5230, firstname.lastname@example.org
Day Three - Sunday, 15th Nov
Hokitika to Christchurch via Arthur's Pass: 245 kilometres
